Start shape
BenchCAD can generate a flat MFT-style top, a torsion-box top, or a complete bench with a base. Start with the simplest structure that provides the stiffness, clamping access, and storage your shop needs.
- Top establishes units, top style, skin construction, and the hole or opening system.
- Size & Fit controls the working envelope, material thicknesses, and normalized dimensions.
- Base adds trestle, open-shelf, metal-frame, or CabCAD-powered cabinet storage.
MFT safety
MFT holes must stay clear of joinery, structural ribs, and safe edge margins. BenchCAD regenerates the assembly and reports corrections when a requested grid or rib station cannot remain buildable.
