Connector placement basics

Place connector logic after the assembly is confirmed and before sheet output.

Work through the five stages

  1. Import: Upload a 3MF or receive a trusted CabCAD or BenchCAD assembly.
  2. Verify Import: For a third-party 3MF, confirm units, scale, separated bodies, orientation, inferred machining, and geometry-detected contact candidates.
  3. Fixtures: Choose the connector kit, review recommendations, and edit individual joints where needed.
  4. Validation: Resolve fit, reference-face, and placement issues before export.
  5. Handoff & Export: Save an edited 3MF or send the reviewed project to CutCAD.

Connector choices are relationship-specific

JoinCAD supports Lamello Cabineo 8 and 12, Zeta P-10 and P-14 machining with supported physical hardware, and Predrill pilot-hole workflows. A project default establishes the starting choice, while each joint can keep its own connector, count, seating, reference faces, and reviewed placement.
